about

Otmoor is a sometimes bleak area of wetland not far from Oxford. The fields were the original inspiration for the chess board in Lewis Carroll's "Through the looking glass". " The Ghost of.." was realised on the Wiard 300 series. It starts with wind, rain, a water bird and frogs. You can just about hear the sound of a Roman legion as it trudges down the Roman road in the rain, followed by the sound of wood cutting. The voice of the reeds can be heard too.
Since more or less completing the sound picture it has come out that a planned major expressway may destroy the site. So I have added a slow bell like tolling as the conclusion.
